Oh boy. Right now I am watching a Lifetime movie called Fat Like Me. It is about a skinny, pretty, popular girl who goes undercover as an obese girl as part of a video project. She said something along the lines of "People have fat-phobia because anybody can be fat". I do not hate anybody solely for being fat, but I do know what she is talking about. I have been depressed all day because I binged on bagels, cheese, goldfish, and peanut butter among other things and I am freaking out. I am ready for a cleanse. At first, I was ready to go on just a 5 day juice cleanse (drink only pure freshly juiced fruits and vegetables), but after seeing this movie I am going to go through a mind cleanse as well. It is so difficult though. All of the shows we see on television tell us to be happy and accepting of our bodies- which I love. But all of the commercials that follow them tell us that we need to lose weight. It is a vicious cycle people! Don't you see?
[for the record, i am supportive of being fit, but i do understand how bad and helpless people can feel when they feel fat]
I want to tell you the truth. I do want to lose weight and I will stop at nothing until I get my waist down to 22 inches. But I also want to tell you all that you are beautiful. I mean that. I wish you luck on your weight loss goals and I also wish you luck in seeing the true beauty in yourself. Wait! I found the secret. After some soul searching, I found that the secret to happiness and fitness is to love and accept each other. Making jokes about people's weight is NOT okay. We are all made of the same stuff on the inside and we all hurt. Yes, even that hairy guy with that sweat stained wife beater standing next to you on the subway. But more importantly, we WOMEN need to stick together. Are you with me? If you are, you know that this needs no further explaining. So... Are you in or out?
