Many thanks to Retroteevee for posting these videos! This is where I have satisfied my recent Brady craving. I mean that in a not-disgusting way.
Now for the project.....
Do you know a shy, meek, unpopular (but nice) girl at school? Would you like to boost someone's self esteem while making a new friend at the same time? Do you have an eye for beauty and giving criticism GENTLY? Then this project might just be for you.
1. Look in the mirror. Are you qualified to give beauty advice? Yes? Then continue to step 2.
2. This is your first day of the project. Take this day to browse around your school. Look for girls who have potential. By potential, I mean kindness, coolness, a good sense of humor, caring...etc. You will definitely find one. Jot down a list of these potential girls. Think it over for the night. Read the provided articles and buy your supplies.
3. The next day at school: Chat up the girl of your choice and invite her to study at your house tomorrow. This is the day when you should buy your makeup if you already haven't.
4. Get to know her and find a way to gently and non-insultingly ask her if she will allow you to give her a makeover. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT hurt her feelings. You are doing this to boost her self esteem and let the real-her shine through her new found confidence.
5. Work on poise and posture. Work on social skills, tone of voice, and social graces. Do so with kindness and proceed with caution. You never know what kind of crap people might be dealing with at home.
6. Move on to hair and eyebrows. If you can afford it, make a trip to a salon for a new hairstyle. This is not necessary, though. If you know how to cut hair, then do so with her permission. You can buy a bottle of at-home color for under 4 dollars at the grocery or drug store. Check Beauty Tips below.
7. Take her shopping or give her some of your old clothes. Trips to the vintage store are always fun and inexpensive. Teach her how to dress for her body type. Buy her a new outfit or pick one out of her closet or take her shopping. If you have a tight budget to stick to, lend or give her some of your clothes. Make her a small goody bag of makeup to take home so she can re-create her look.
8. Monday: Her big debut at school! Wish her luck and invite her to sit with you at lunch as she may be nervous. Let her see how impressed your friends are. Introduce her to some people.
TIPS:
-Be kind and helpful
-Do not treat her like a project
-If you can't afford a lot of makeup, try the drug store. You can even try the dollar store. You will need the basics: Concealer, Liquid Foundation, Translucent powder, Mascara, Eye shadow, Lip gloss/Lipstick, and Eyeliner.
BEAUTY TIPS:
-If you decide to give her a new hair color, choose one that is within two shades lighter or darker than her natural color.
-Find out what her skin tone is in order to choose her best colors.
-Pale skin looks best in corals and light peaches.
-Very tan skin looks great in fuchsias.
-Here is a skin tone guide:

Inspiration

Muted makeup, thickly groomed eyebrows, white teeth, and a simple sweet hairstyle.
Best of luck! I can't wait to start a "project" of my own next school year! :)
