Well I'll tell you a story of Bradys and Accents and Rants. Dah dah dah.

Bradys

I love the Brady Bunch and this quiz was quite amusing. For the record, I would kill all of the Bradys in a systematic order to make it look like an accident.

Purely Patrician In Every Way

Breakfast At Tiffany's is one of my all time favorite movies. Holly Golightly is too much like myself and Audrey Hepburn, much like in the rest of her movies, is gorgeous in it. Aside from her perfect figure and perfect bone structure, the thing of which I am most envious is her accent. I have wanted a "patrician"/mid-Atlantic/trans-Atlantic accent ever since I was fourteen years old. I heard all of the old actresses from the 40's, 50's, and 60's speak with one. Well... it took me a whole night's worth of practice about 3 months ago, but I finally mastered it and have had yet to use it in real life. I am positive that people will look at me like I am crazy, but with a furry white Lori Maddox coat and platform heels, they already do. I think I will use it around strangers to begin with. If you do not know what a Trans-Atlantic accent is, it is the accent that most people use whilst singing. Audrey's has scads of Italian and French accents in hers and always sounds like she is smiling. Here is a grand example (pronounced: "Grahnd Exa*smile*hmple ")

I can't say that it is an accent all too fake for me. I grew up with a muddled Australian-American accent, so all it needed was some polishing off. When I started to focus on my accent , I noticed that I already had some Italian, French, and Scottish accents in there! I am half Italian, so I understand that. I studied French here and there, so that too. But the Scottish? Who knows! I threw that one out the window. I must say that I am advanced enough in this accent that I might audition to become a BBC news anchor. If you would like to learn this accent, this video is a good place to start.

Look at her video series. The girl is amazing.

Rant

Today's generation, of which I am a part of, has not-so-single-handedly (thanks, mom and dad) butchered the English language. We are known as the generation who listens to crappy music (but those people can speak for themselves) and posts meaningless updates about their lives on sites like Twitter (once again- flutter by, butterfly). We even have Formspring now. I can not tell you how annoying it is when friends post links to their Formspring accounts all over Myspace. Have you not missed out on enough actual human interaction today? And must you advertise this fact to all of us? I can be a real bitch sometimes, I am aware. I have seen. I know. Like many others, I've had things to say about Myspace yet own an account, so you could call me weak.

Formspring is going too far. If you do not know what Formspring is, it is a website that allows random people to post anonymous questions for the account holder to answer. It is a website that pretty much begs people to find you interesting. Newsflash: Having people (Or yourself if you are really desperate; its anonymous. Yeah I think of those things.) ask you sometimes really creepy questions over the internet does not make you in-demand for interviews about your life. Posting twitter updates about the metamucil you are currently denting in the supermarket to get 30% off on does not make people want to stalk you with cameras to find out exactly just how revved up your digestive system is. People want so badly to be like their favorite "celebrities", that they forgot one important thing. Even their so-called "celebrities" of today like Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber, and Rihanna are not real celebrities. They are talentless, self-absorbed media funnels that millions of stupid people willingly shove into their own mouths, through their brain cavities, and out of their own asses!

Now watch me people- I am going to talk about class. After that classy rant let's handle this gracefully, shall we?

Celebrities (deep inhale..."My rage will not control my actions. My rage will not control my actions" fists are shaaaaaking!)...(exhale....smile) are meant to be entertaining in a talented and respectful way. I am not knocking young Hollywood. In fact I very much support people who pursue their passion in the arts, just so long as that you do it in an artful manner. I am simply saying that they just don't make movies and music like they used to.

Alright, I'm out. Goodnight all.

P.S. I just had to add that I was watching television with a friend and while she was flipping through channels, we saw a show called "I Shouldn't Be Alive", and I kid you not, she asked me if "that is a documentary on Miley Cyrus?"
